Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has accused the Bhartiya Janata Party of being against 'good & cheap' education and asked for an explanation regarding the hike in CBSE exam fees that burdened over six lakh families in the National capital.

Talking to media, Sisodia claimed that the BJP leaders in Delhi had asked the Centre to raise CBSE exam fees after the state government decided to pay the fees of students.

The Central board of secondary education in August had increased the fees for class X and class XII board exams by up to Rs 1,150, which was the first hike in 5 years.

Sisodia said, "When Delhi government announced to give the fees of CBSE exams for class X and XII, then why did the BJP hatch a conspiracy to stop it? BJP leaders must answer why they were plotting to make the education of lakhs of children in Delhi expensive".

The minister also alleged that all the BJP policies have been against 'good & cheap' education & sought an explanation from the saffron party regarding hike in CBSE exam fees.

He said, "By hiking the fees, the BJP has put the burden on 6 lakh families living in Delhi. This shows that the Bhartiya Janata Party is against education".
